COR Development

Building the documented program from whatever you have today to something an IHSA auditor can score.

The build

What gets built

COR is scored on evidence rather than intent. Development produces the written system, then puts enough operating history behind it for an auditor to score.

The written program

Health and safety policy, roles and responsibilities, company rules, training matrix, inspection process, incident investigation, emergency response, document and record control, management review, and corrective action tracking.

Hazard assessments and procedures

Developed with your supervisors, who hold the knowledge of how the work is done. They review and sign off on every procedure as an accurate account of the job.

Registration and training

We register you with IHSA and book the required courses: one for your senior management representative and four for the employee you designate as internal auditor.

The evidence package

Records are collected, version controlled and mapped to the element each one supports, so the audit submission is assembled in order rather than reconstructed at the deadline.

The standard it is built to

The COR 2020 audit applies three thresholds, and all three must be met: a minimum of 80 per cent overall, a minimum of 65 per cent on every element, and 100 per cent on items identified as legislated requirements.

Development effort goes where marks are actually lost, which for most contractors is the administrative side: document control, training records, corrective action tracking and management review.

The limits of our role

We do not conduct site inspections, approve or sign off on work, or act as your internal auditor, and we do not guarantee certification. IHSA conducts the audits and decides the outcome.
